All the other message boards are saying that Rachel is going to die giving birth to her baby .If they are, that would totally ruin the show. Who would watch Friends without Rachel? I think they know it and they are going to cancel it after this season.Damn.I'm all sad now . Ok, I'm good, I'm fine !So does anyone think this is true^?

Ah, yes, this rumour has been going around everywhere all day. Apparantely it originated in a tabloid newspaper. I would bet high sums of money that it's bull. First of all, they wouldn't do that..it's just not the style. Second, they don't even know if this will be the last season Third, they haven't written the last episode muchless filmed it. Just something to stir things up.

I don't believe it either Friends is supposed to be fun, so i really doubt that she would be killed off, and the cast have always said if one leaves they all leave. So i don't think it will happen, it better not!!

Yeah, I read it too at WB. Breezy found the link to the tabloid, but I don't have it right now. (When you take a look at this, Breezy, would you please post it? Thx!) I think it's such a stupid gossip! Cause making Rachel die would be non-sense, I mean, it's Friends! Look how they handled Mr Heckles' death! And Ross's and Monica's grandma died twice! So I don't think this would be really smart of the scriptwriters... *coughs*big stupid gossip*coughs*

This is a "speculation" piece. Or, in another words, "gossip". Anyway, look closely at the upper, left hand side of the picture of Jenn. That is a picture of the actual tabloid. And it is very misleading because your first thoughts are that Jenn dies. When you read the article, you re-look at the cover and think that you're looking at the "final" episode. But, that picture is from 814 (look at our thread in this section, the pictures from that episode are posted in it). Here's the article itself (from this website): JENNIFER ANISTON DIES IN BABY TRAGEDY -- DETAILS OF FRIENDS FINAL SHOW FRIENDS, the most popular sitcom on television is getting ready to end with a stunning dramatic blockbuster - pregnant Rachel, played by Jennifer Aniston, will die while giving birth to her love child! "There's never been a heartrending Friends episode like this before," a show insider tells Star. "It will be the most shocking scene ever played out on TV." But the death of Rachel is just one of three top-secret, sensational endings being penned by the show’s writers, Star has learned. For a sneak peek at all three scenarios, plus the inside track on whether the show and all of its stars will be back for a ninth season, be sure to buy the latest Star on sale at newsstands this week. Published on: February 8, 2002 starmagazine.com/stories/feature.cfm?instanceid=20620Anyway, it's flattering (in a way) that they put Jenn on the cover. They hope to sell lots of papers because she is soooo popular. However, sometimes their news is a bit on the "mean" side. So this story is something I knew about but didn't pay that much attention to. I'd just wait until NBC posts their promos...they're more of a reliable source, don't you think?

I call this manipulation! The cover looks so funny when you recognize the real scene! ;D Those people don't know what to do in order to sell more!

Usually, that's why a lot of us ignore these magazines. Popular celebs are the main focus of them because people are always interested in celebs, you know?
Anyway, wait for NBC to release their promos for the final episode. They are the source of information, especially about their programming. But, it is flattering (in a twisted way) because friends is very popular, so, doing "stories" (gossip) about them just shows that they realize who the hot celebs are, right?

Hey! I found another one: From People.com. Here's what it says: February 12, 2002 'Friends' Stay Friendly -- And Rich STEPHEN M. SILVERMAN ...In a separate development, reps for the show denied to the Associated Press a story in Monday's edition of the supermarket tabloid The Star that said writers were working on a final episode that has Jennifer Aniston's character, Rachel, dying in childbirth. "When I asked about the story line, everyone looked at me like I was crazy," said Phil Gonzalez, a spokesman for the show's producers. "It's definitely not true." (Edited by Breezy. The first part of this story is pasted in the "9th Season" thread.) And here's the URL for the complete story: people.aol.com/people/news/now/0,10958,202253,00.html Thanks People Mag!

People Magazine, is owned by Time-Warner. (As in Warner Brothers). I looked at Time Magazine online, but, they didn't print the comments made about the "Star" Magazine article when I was doing a massive sweep of finding information. So, judging from what was printed on-line, Rachel lives and will continue being our "friend".

NBC's `Friends' Agree to Come Back Mon Feb 11, 9:47 PM ET By DAVID BAUDER, AP Television Writer
NEW YORK - Television's most popular show, the NBC comedy "Friends," is coming back for a ninth and final season.
The six actors who star in the show, NBC and Warner Brothers Television signed a deal Monday to wrap up the series with a final, 24-episode season starting in the fall.
Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox Arguette, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer will all be paid $1 million per episode for the final season, according to sources close to the negotiations who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
Their contracts, believed to be worth more than $750,000 per episode now, were due to expire at the end of the season.
It was unexpectedly quick good news for NBC, which had been concerned that negotiations over the series' return would stretch into May, as it had the last time "Friends" was renewed. May is when networks announce their new fall schedules.
This year, however, the actors — buoyed by the show's strong ratings and positive critical response this season — decided early they wanted to come back.
"Friends" has drawn an average of 24.5 million viewers this season, more than any other regular series. It has never finished as the No. 1 show for any season in its history, according to Nielsen Media Research.
"We've never had better `Friends,'" said NBC Entertainment President Jeff Zucker, "and we're thrilled.
"Since we all had the same objective, this was the easiest deal we have ever made," Zucker said. "Everyone wanted it to work out, because everyone wanted to be able to send the series out appropriately, and in style."
The season is nearing a climax with Aniston's character, Rachel, pregnant and due to deliver a baby during the May ratings sweeps.
NBC will reportedly pay Warner Brothers a $6 million per episode license fee for the series, up from the current $5.5 million.
Earlier Monday, show representatives denied a tabloid report that writers were working on a final episode that had Rachel dying in childbirth.
