Although, I haven't seen it yet. Shame on me, I know. I just haven't gotten there because the lines are incredibly loong, and there are wayyy too many 'shippers that are seeing this movie almost every day.
Anyway, have you seen this movie yet? Is it playing where you're at? What do you think? Did you need to read the book(s) first? Did it even follow the book?
What is your humble opinion about this movie?

I loved this movie! The story is just so cool! I knew it from this computer game i had when i was a kid. It's so old that it didn't even have pictures. It was just all text! So i thought it was so cool they made a movie of it! I'm reading the books now ;D I recommend it to everyone!

No wonder the lines are soooo long. Oh, and I plan on seeing it sometime soon. However, everytime we try to go, (weekends), the lines are out into the parking lot. And if they aren't into the parking lot, then we see the sign at the ticket office that says "Sold Out". One of my friends stood in that long line and the "Sold Out" sign was put out 3 people in front of her. She was soooo angry! Anyway, that's why I'm just politely waiting for the lines to thin. (I'm sure it will be awhile, since I haven't heard of anyone not liking it).
And I'll start reading the book(s) too. Maybe we could discuss them (the books)sometime in the future?
I heard the "Hobbit" is a pre-quel to the Lord of the Rings? Should we start with that one? Or, should we start with the "Fellowship of the Ring"? And Nab, it will take me a while to read, (I've got schedules too), sooo when you're ready to start reading, start a thread about it?
Since there was a text game of the LOTR, is there one out for the computers that has the graphics? Or, is the imagination better than what the graphics are?

I went to see Lord of the Rings, it was very good, it's worth the hype. At the start of the film they talk about The Hobbit so it doesn't matter if you've read the book. I went to school with the lad who plays Merry, so it was another good reason to watch.

Wow, that is cool that you know somebody in the movie! And I'm still waiting to see this movie. I've read much about it, soooo, I'm glad that it's what the reviews says it is!

I really wish that I saw the Lord of the Rings when it first came out. I guess I should have stayed in that looong line. Sometimes there should be "spoiler" space in real life. Everybody has told me about the Lord of the Rings. So now, I'm wondering, should I wait for the second one to come out? Because usually, if there's a sequel, then, they show the first part a week before the second part comes out. Soooo, maybe that's what I should do. And...there hasn't been any bad reviews anywhere. Well, in real life, no one has said anything bad about it. And the 'shippers are still flocking to it, so, I know it's worth seeing.

Wow, you have to live in a really big city if you get all those rows! Here it wasn't like that. Have you tried buying the entries over the internet? That's what I did!

We did that for Harry Potter when it was first released, and the lines were still long. Sometimes you have the ticket, but, it doesn't guarantee you a good seat. And so you go early so you can at least sit with your friends, family and/or significant other. But the LOTR is a whole different thing, I mean, how old are those books, so, there's this huge following of LOTR 'shippers of soooo many ages. (That's why the crazy crowd). Anyway, if you all want to discuss the LOTR in this thread, go ahead. I've already heard a lot about it and I don't mind hearing more.

Yay! I finally got to see this show. But, you know what, some of it I really didn't understand. I guess I need to "really" read the book. However, one of the guys that we went with said that if you read the book, you'd have to look at this show like it's a different story because there was a lot that was left out. Anyway, this is how I feel now: Do I read the books, and not really pay close attention to the show. (The show was beautiful, by the way. I enjoyed it. But, it really freaked me out---especially the "battles". Some of it, I couldn't watch because it bothered me...but, in a way that it looked a little too realistic...so that's why, there was nothing wrong with the movie.) I think I probably have to watch it all over again because there was a lot of narratives that I missed because we sometimes got distracted? Well...not what you think, but, there still was the 'shipper crowd there. Not as big of a crowd, but, still... Anyway...thought I'd let you know. It really was a great show, though. Now, I know why people are continuing to watch it.

It is going to take me awhile to look through all the information on the net about "The Lord of the Rings". A very good mystery for me, since you know that I love researching. And...I'll write progress as I go. If you have the immediate link to the "Official Site", please feel free to write in the link. For now, I'm researching all the possibilities. First I found this link: www.tolkien-ent.com/new/index.html, which is where this picture is from: (Recognize it?) However, it's not a "fan" site. This is more for "business" and licensing of the LOTR places, characters, etc. So, I'll keep looking through all sites and compile a list as I go. Later....and yes, very off topic (from this topic), but on topic to most of the topics here....Keep watching "friends"...

Hey! I found the official site for the movie. It is here: www.lordoftherings.netAnd here is the synopsis of the show (from the official site): A daunting task lies ahead for Frodo (the hobbit who inherited the One Ring from Bilbo) when he becomes the Ringbearer — to destroy the One Ring in the fires of Mount Doom where it was forged. But he can’t do it alone. A Fellowship bands together to lend Frodo the wisdom of Gandalf (Ian McKellen); the loyalty of his friends Sam (Sean Astin), Merry (Dominic Monaghan) and Pippin (Billy Boyd); the courage of Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) and Boromir (Sean Bean); the precision of Legolas (Orlando Bloom); and the strength of Gimli (John Rhys-Davies). They are aided in their quest by Arwen (Liv Tyler), Galadriel (Cate Blanchett) and Elrond (Hugo Weaving), whose knowledge of the Ring brings to light the true danger and importance of their journey. First picture: Bilbo (the hobbit who found the One Ring) Ian Holm
