*If You Don't Want To Know About The Latest Situation In The X-Files,Please Don't Go Below This Line,Thanks!!!-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hi folks, I just wanted to know how many of you also are x-files fans! To tell you the truth,I've been an x-files fan long before I started watching Friends. But now, nothing beats Friends in my book, nothing! But still the x-files is one of my fave shows. That is it was one of my fave shows until the last ( i.e. the current 9th ) season. The reason: David Duchovny has left the show. That's like removing one of the pillars of the show! I've not seen any episodes from the latest season yet and I don't want to be judgemental, but still I don't think the show will be the same. And what about Scully's pregnancy, huh? (btw,Gillian Anderson is one cool lady and one of my fave after the three fab gals you know from where!!! ;D). Anyway, I just wanted to pour my opinions and hearth's content to you guys. What do you all think?

Hm, I haven't seen the X-Files since... 6th season, I guess. It's shown too late and my video recorder doesn't work... But I knew about the new situation (good idea btw -->with the lines). Yeah, Gillian is cool, but the show also worked thanks to her chemistry (not only meaning the sexual one) with David. It was often hilarious to hear them giving eacht other brush-off (?) answers, having so different opinions and being so ironical. I don't know, I hope I can watch the eppies...

I have never seen X - Files but if that's the show with Scully and Mulder then I read a book about Voodoo that was based on the show! It was pretty spooky *lol*

Oh yeah, that show. I use to love that show. And you're sooo right about the thing about Mulder. It just really isn't the same anymore. It's like the whole reason for the X-files is gone because it was all Mulder's "thing".
Anyway, I liked the spinoff show too, but, it (unfortunately) isn't around...or I can't find it...I think it was called, The Lone Gunmen? Or something like that. Did you ever see it? And, sorry I took ever so long to write back on this, but, it took me that long to figure out what the spinoff title was. And, I'm not even sure if I got it right. Did I?

In the USA they have some of the characters from a TV series have their own show. That's called a "spin-off". The three computer "nerds" that Mulder used often were on a series of their own called, "The Lone Gunmen" (I think that's what it was called). And the network agreed to "try it out" for a couple of shows, and I think that it disappeared into an X-file of it's own because I haven't seen/heard about it.
Anyway, that's about all I know. Sorry if I confused everybody by listing that. However, you never know if by chance it does go somewhere outside of the USA.

Any time I don't make sense on the messageboard, please feel free to ask what I mean. Questions are always good. It's very hard for me to watch X-files without David Duchovny. (It would be like changing any of the f*r*i*e*n*d*s characters with a new actor/actress.) I often wonder if later on David would have a change of heart and later do an X-File show later on? I suppose we all just wait and see...

Well I don't think it's the same... You know, Friends is a good show more than because of the plot because of the characters, and thus because of the actors and the chemistry between them. The X-Files has a big plot that hasn't to do so directly with Mulder & Scully, it's not bout their private lives, but Friends is... Do u know what I mean?

Ohhhh...I can see where I sounded off on that. What I meant was that I'm sooo use to this being all "Mulder's" thing and that Scully was always the skeptic. Sooo, when you get Mulder out of the picture, does that mean that Scully is now the one interested in something that she was skeptical about?
Anyway, next post, latest news on this series.
(Annnd, I must be tired, re-editting this because of word misspelled).

Sorry...this looks like the end of the X-Files: Read On:
"X-Files" Gets X-ed Out by Mark Armstrong Jan 17, 2002, 10:00 AM PT
The truth is out there, and the truth hurts: After nine seasons of sniffing out conspiracies, Fox's The X-Files is packing it in at the end of this season.
Creator Chris Carter told reporters Wednesday that it was time for the long-running series to end, and the finale will air in May.
"It's the ninth inning. We wanted to go out on top," he told Daily Variety. "We wanted to go out as a strong show."
Strong, of course, is all relative: The series has tumbled in the ratings this season, with fans grousing that recent episodes aren't living up to the days of David Duchovny. The X-Files has averaged 8.7 million viewers in its Sunday timeslot, and with costs reaching $4 million per episode, there had already been talk that 20th Century Fox Television was going to end the show's run this year.
Both Carter and star Gillian Anderson have previously voiced their exhaustion with the series, with the actress saying last summer that this would be her last season as Dana Scully so she can focus on being a mom and pursue other projects (she's already adapting the novel Speed of Light for her directorial debut).
Carter, meanwhile, said he wants to end the series with a proper farewell, including a clip show and--for the love of all things holy--some answers.
"I want to be able to wrap things up for the fans who have been there from the beginning and throughout," he told the Hollywood Reporter. "My determination was to go out with a series of very, very strong episodes that are going to pull a lot of threads together from the last nine years."
One thread not yet tied together is whether Duchovny will return for any of the final episodes. Carter said he wanted to enlist Duchovny, but the subject has not yet been discussed.
Since its September 1993 debut, The X-Files went from quirky cult fave to pop-culture phenomenon, turning Fox Mulder (Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Anderson) into sci-fi icons. The series also earned an Emmy nomination for Best Drama Series in 1996 and scored Anderson a Best Actress trophy in 1997.
In 2000, Duchovny gradually bowed out of the series to work on a film career, and Carter brought aboard several new cast members to join Anderson, including Robert Patrick, Annabeth Gish and Cary Elwes.
Despite Wednesday's announcement, this probably won't be the last we see of Scully and company. Carter has previously indicated plans to make a sequel to the 1998 big-screen version of The X-Files, starring Anderson and Duchovny.

This is a good news/bad news deal I know, but, it looks like Mulder may be back: (And the Bad News...the series is ending on TV!)
Here's the latest (feel free to add if you know more):
Duchovny Reopens 'X-Files' (Katrillion) -- Mulder fans will get to see their favorite FBI agent before their beloved "X-Files" goes off the air.
"X-Files" creator Chris Carter told the New York Post that he spoke with David Duchovny after he chose to cancel the show on Wednesday night. He explained that David has agreed to return, despite last year's legal disputes with Carter that led to the actor's eventual departure from the show.
Carter said that Duchovny will return in time for the series finale, which will tie up several loose ends, but not all of them. A few of the unanswered questions will be carried over to future "X-Files" movies.
