Monica tries to spice up Valentine's Day, but does Chandler have Post-Traumatic Stress?

When a playful Monica goes all out for Valentine's Day with sexy lingerie and X-rated entertainment, Chandler is too shell-shocked to repond after he accidentally views the wrong tape  -- a birthing video meant for Rachel.  Meanwhile Ross has difficulty breaking the news to Mona that Rachel has moved in with him - but his plans to soften her up with the perfect Valentine's Day date are twarted when she shows up unexpectedly at the door.  Elsewhere Phoebe tries to cheer up a depressed Joey by bringing him the world's most cheerful dog.

You know how I like Joey.  I kinda like this new writing of J&R.  It's kinda neat and fresh, you know?  I thought it was soooo cute that Joey gave Rachel lillies.  I mean, her favorite flower, just a little thing like that means a lot.  I think.  And Joey having so many sisters and he was the one that always protected them, he would make a great husband, once he found the one he wanted to be with.  But, yeah, this brings confusion to everything!  It would be soooo bad for Pheebes if she is the "rebound" gal.  That would hurt.  But, if they put her with Joey, that's the role she'd be in.

I'm really confused about Mona and Ross.  Of course, Ross, gets me sooo confused anywayyy.  And it really hurts to see Rachel "always" being the one getting hurt.  I mean, even in the early seasons, she's said that's what happens when it comes to Ross.  Sooo, I guess we just wait and see what goes.

Well Joey was never my favorite but I loved the detail with the lillies, you'll notice I made four screencaps of the scene when he knocks on his own door! ;D

You know, it's funny what you say about Rachel. There are like real pro-Rachels and pro-Rosss, as there always were R&R fans and M&C fans and now there are pro-R&R and pro-J&R... I mean, you say Rachel always suffers when it come to Ross. She gets hurt. And some people say Rachel is the mean one and she tries to have Ross for nobody (not even for herself!). Anyway, I think she's been mean in season 4 but she's also get hurt a lot. I don't know, it's this doubt I always have, especially in real life. You know, when two persons are in a relationship they come soooooo close together and there are so many feelings that you can't differentiate what's wrong and what's right easily...

Anyway... getting too personal? ;D I hope not.

I've heard that Rach is "mean" and this discussion isn't getting "personal".  Your opinions are all good ones.  I'm sure that Rach "deserves" this?  But, I'm not sure if I totally agree with that.  If she decides to move in with Ross, with the idea that Ross is going to be with Mona.  Doesn't that seem to "hurt"?  Just reading about that "hurt" me.  

And then, I think of the episode with Joey and how he was just doing it out of friendship, but, then suddenly something seemed to click.  So, I guess, I liked watching that.  He was nice to Rach.  Her being pregnant, and her emotions are probably all messed up, she needs somebody to be nice to her.  I'm confused...is Ross being "nice" when he seems to be involved with Mona?  I kinda don't understand her living with Ross, if he's going to still be dating Mona...what do you think?

Deserve? I don't know. Well I kinda waited for Rachel to live together with Ross while she's pregnant. (Btw I kinda missinterpreted a spoiler and thought she already had given birth, but no.) I don't know if it'll hurt but I know Ross couldn't stay out again of being father, as he was with Carol. I mean, Rachel did really love him!!! And they're real friends and all... I'm confused by all this R&J&R convo...

It's a little misleading, the spoiler, because it could be read different ways.  You know?  Another way of seeing that spoiler is that Ross is trying to break up with Mona?  However, I don't know.  It reads more that Ross is dating Mona, and still wants that to happen, but, in the meantime Rachel is living with him?  I don't think Joey would do that to her.  But, maybe Rachel doesn't care?  It's confusing, I agree with what you said...the R&R&J and Mona?  You gotto add Mona to be completely confused about it.

I think it's rather the other way, I mean the easiest: Ross wants to go on with Mona. But I personally think he actually knows his thingy with Mona has no future and will end up breaking up! He he! I watched today 813 and I decided I'm sorry for Joey, but I want Ross and Rachel.

Spoiler Discussion:  Don't Read If You Don't Want To Know What Was Broadcasted for this Episode

Oh my God, this is soooo confusing, really confusing.  Highlights:  Pheebes tries to cheer Joey up with the "world's happiest dog".  However, Joey started playing with the dog, but, then got into reflecting all his feelings about Rachel to the dog...so the dog got depressed!  

Ross is "soooo Ross" that he plots a way to tell Mona that he's living with Rachel.  And of course, that really doesn't work because Mona surprises Ross by coming over with a Valentine's Gift - A Homemade meal they could share.  A "fight" occurs between Ross/Mona because Rachel lives there and Rachel is making herself at "home".  Anyway....big fight/breakup (not shown on screen), but Rachel leaves Ross's to go to Monica/Chandler's.

Before then Chandler "thinks" he's got a porn video and takes a sneak peak at it while Monica is getting uncomfortably ready for "love".  Chandler is not happy watching the birthing video, it turns him wayyy off.  Monica doesn't think that it could be that bad, "births are beautiful".  But, changes her mind when Chandler clicks the video back on.  They are very stunned after watching part of the video, try to kiss, and are glad when Rachel visits.  She convinces them to watch it with her.  (Side note, they don't show any of the video...you only hear dialog from the tape).  Chandler has then watched it 3 times....and very funny lines from that.

Later...Joey goes to Central Perk on Valentine's Day all alone, Ross happens to go there and tells Joey about the Mona breakup.  But Ross senses unhappiness in Joey and asks about the situation.  Joey explains a little bit about it, saying that he's in love with a girl but this girl has a long history with a guy.  And that he's good friends with the guy.  Ross asks if the guy is a good guy.  Joey says, "He's the best".  

Anywayy, this is getting way long, but, the end is that Ross convinces Joey to talk to this guy and maybe if that guy isn't really in love with that girl, then it would be okay.  Ross is on his way out of Central Perk, Joey still is sitting at the table,  Just as Ross opens the door to leave,  Joey blurts out, "It's Rachel".  Ross stops.  (The guys aren't facing each other).   And that was it.

I am soooo very confused.  So, if anybody wants to talk about it, that would be great.  But, I can wait until everybody has seen it.

That dog was sooooo cute!  Anyway, I'm so confused with the whole thing now, I mean this Ross/Rachel/Joey situation.  But, Joey's been so good about everything.  He's given Ross the chance to really be with Rachel.  But, Ross really didn't seem to be sentimental at all about Valentine's day when it came to Rachel.  I mean, didn't even get anything for her or the baby!  Well, Ross shared one of the gifts Mona's brought back with her (Saltwater taffy)...but, his main concern was to be with Mona.  Anyway, I keep thinking that if she were in Joey's place, Joey would have gotten something for Rachel and her baby...you know, something.  He just seems that kind of guy.  Anywayyy, what do you think?  And it's okay if you don't agree too.  I'd like to hear your opinion.
