THEY'RE TALKING: Bringing Friends back for a ninth season is "our No. 1 top priority," NBC Entertainment president Jeff Zucker told reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, Calif., Wednesday morning. And despite past dustups over the sextet's soaring salaries, NBC West Coast prez Scott Sassa insisted "we're in discussions and there's no acrimony."

Ninth Season Hush-Hush News Appears that there will be a ninth season for NBC's #1 sitcom. Several sources (aka E!'s Ted Casablanca and Wanda) have confirmed that 5 out of 6 actors agreed on an extra season with no raise in their paycheck. All because their movie careers isn't going as well as they hoped. Both NBC and WB reps have declined to comment on that.
It looks like the current season (8) might not be the last, as has previously been said by the stars. NBC were prepared to lose the show after it's 7th year, due to ailing ratings and tired storylines. However, since the new season's debut, the show is consistently the number one show in the ratings for the week, and NBC are now desperate to keep this proven ratings-winner. Apparently, network execs have approached the stars with a 13-episode deal for season 9, rather than a full 24 episodes. And it seems that the stars would rather do this than completely let go of the show, as only one ANONYMOUS cast member has as-yet refused to sign on the dotted line.

Hey Jesse, this is cool news. Did you get both of your news items from TV Guide.com? The only reason I'm wondering is because there's so much news (and rumors) that I trust that's what your source is.
Thanks for posting up news.
