I have no idea if you're interested in this topic or not. However, it was quite the evening. I was at some of the winners. Here's the list: oscar.com/oscarnight/winners/winners_list.htmlAnd I was looking at what was being worn. I should post some of the dresses, some were gorgeous, however, I wondered whose opinion they asked when they went on stage? Maybe they need to fire somebody? And I'll post some other sites if you're interested in them. Oh and what isn't listed is the special awards: Arthur Hiller ( Love Story) won the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. The Hersholt Award is given to an individual in the motion picture industry whose humanitarian efforts have brought credit to the industry. Sidney Poitier won the Honorary Award. The award, an Oscar statuette, is being given to Poitier "for his extraordinary performances and unique presence on the screen, and for representing the motion picture industry with dignity, style and intelligence throughout the world." Robert Redford won an Honarary Award. The citation will read: "Robert Redford - Actor, Director, Producer, Creator of Sundance, inspiration to independent and innovative filmmakers everywhere." Their acceptance speeches were quite moving. Anyway, did any of the winners surprise you? And, I'm still shocked about Russell Crowe...what happened there? Where did Will Smith disappear to? He was there, wasn't he? Oh well, if you know anything about the event, or if you have an opinion, feel free to write in.

Maybe it was a little bit of "overconfidence" that Russell Crowe was behaving badly? (I think he was absolutely sure that he would get the Oscar?) Anyway, there's so many "fights" about the Oscars on other boards (not WB, Charmed, Lord of The Rings, or Harry Potter boards) because I haven't been there for a long time, but I know that some of you reading do go to those boards and I think all those boards are great, so, I don't want to do a "Russell Crowe type of thing and behave badly to those that like to visit here. Anywayyy, I'm glad that "fights" didn't happen at our board. So, thanks everybody for keeping the peace here.

Maybe she didn't realize that it photographs horribly: Gweneth Paltrow at the Oscars (Please don't ask me to enlarge it, enlarging it doesn't make it look any better, what you see is what it is....and whoever suggested that for her, not a "friend"...She is more beautiful than that and this obviously was not a good choice for her.) Julia's pic is in the Julia Roberts (7th Friend) thread. And here's a pic of Robert Redford. I have a lot of respect for that man and all he's done for actors/actresses with the Sundance place.
